The dream of creating the Shaman Heart Medicine cards was a long time in the making. Stephanie and Emily met in 2005 at the Dreaming House retreat center near the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico. They were both at a crossroads in their lives and connected through the mutual dream of becoming Artists of Life. Emily was painting a mural of the Virgin of Guadalupe at the Dreaming House, and Stephanie came to the pyramids on a transformative healing journey of rediscovering her Mexican ancestry and embarking on her music career.

Their friendship ignited through the mutual inquiry of “What are you grateful for?” Over many years, their lives have converged time and time again as they have witnessed each other follow their hearts and grow into established artists, healers and teachers. They’ve held each other through many challenges and always return to their foundation of gratitude to rise up again renewed and stronger.

Stephanie and Emily have dreamed of co-creating this deck of cards merging Stephanie’s song lyrics with Emily’s paintings for as long as they’ve been inspiring each other and cross-pollinating ideas and visions. They are deeply grateful for life’s blessings and for being able to offer up this creation to you as the culmination of a great dream birthed into being through the power of their intent. The Shaman Heart Medicine Cards are born of their deep respect for each other’s art and the ability to see each other with visionary eyes, support each other as midwives and sisters, and celebrate the beauty of their evolution. Their ultimate intent is to share their love and support with whoever finds their way to holding this deck in their hands. May you become the artist of your own life.
